About Evan Farr

After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and law degree from the College of William and Mary, Evan Farr returned home to Northern Virginia and has practiced law in Fairfax since 1987. Evan is a Certified Elder Law Attorney,* a Certified Estate Advisor, a Charter Member of the Academy of Special Needs Planners, and a nationally renowned author and lecturer.

As the creator of the Living Trust Plus™ Asset Protection System used by attorneys across the nation, Evan is widely recognized as one of the country’s leading experts in the field of Medicaid-focused asset protection trusts. Evan has been named by SuperLawyers.com as one of the top 5% of attorneys in Virginia every year since 2007 and as one of the top 5% of attorneys in DC every year since 2008.

As the “expert to the experts,” Evan has educated tens of thousands of attorneys across the country through speaking and writing for numerous national legal organizations (including the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the American Law Institute-American Bar Association, the National Constitution Center, the National Business Institute, and the Academy of Special Needs Planners) as well as numerous legal organizations throughout Virginia and D.C. In addition to educating fellow attorneys and the general public, Evan also regularly conducts smaller educational seminars and workshops for county agencies, churches, civic groups, support groups, and other public, private, and charitable organizations.

In his personal life, Evan is very active in his church and in Scouting.  At Fairfax United Methodist Church, Evan serves as a Trustee and as Chair of the Memorials Committee.  In Scouting, Evan serves as the Activities and Civic Service Chair and Webelos-to-Scout Transition Chair for the George Mason District, and is an active archery instructor for the National Capital Area Council.
